主讲人简介：

        Juan A. Tapia (IEEE M’03, SM’18)于1991和1997年分别获得智利康赛普西翁大学电气工程学士学位和硕士学位，于2002年获得美国威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校电气工程博士学位。

2010年至2014年，他在芬兰拉普兰塔理工大学芬兰学院任FiDiPro Fellow，在那里他对LUT-Energia集团的永磁电机进行研究。现任康塞普西翁大学电气工程系副教授。主要研究方向包括：电机设计、电磁场数值计算、电机控制、可再生能源等。

讲座简介：

      Current technological advances in different areas of the engineering such as material science, power electronics, manufacturing procedures among others, allow us to improve design in order to produce machines with better performance, higher power density and oriented to specific applications. In this context, at University of Concepcion, Chile, there is a group who work on developing novel electric machine configuration taking advantage of these progress using a multiphysics approach. In this presentation, an overview of the past and current research conducted in this field at the Electrical Engineering Department, main focus on using analytical approach as well as numerical design tools, practical  issues of manufacturing methods and testing. Several prototypes are presented and discusses possible areas of application for them.
