On January 4th, Academic Forum of Industrial Product Development and Design was successfully held on the campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Three Engineers, who have good reputation on the area of electrical machine and controlling and power electronics application, Dr Shen jie , Mao Saijun and Xia Yuxin, were invited by SEEE of HUST to give their speeches. Quite a number of professors, doctor students and graduate students attended the meeting and had enthusiastic discussion and communication with the three engineers throughout the whole forum.

Dr. Shen Jie, a senior member of IEEE, got his PhD from the RWTH Aachen and won the honor of Summa Cum Laude. He worked as the director of Chinese technology operation for power electronics at GE global R & D center in Munich and Shanghai from July 2008 to July 2017. During that period, Dr. Shen and his team had engaged in a number of advanced pre-research and industrialization projects with which he had been in charge of over 400 million-yuan funds. Dr. Shen has more than 30 international SCI/EI papers, and has won the best IEEE-IAS papers for four times. Meanwhile, he has over 30 international patents, and has won the gold award for the GE Patent Invention.

At his report, Dr. Shen Jie introduced the concept and process of the industrial R & D, which based on GE. He also introduced the importance of compound R & D talents to the technology of industrialization. At the same time, taken his own experience as an example, Dr. Shen shared his ideas and gave the suggestions for the growth path of the composite engineer in the aspects of technology, management and business.
