From October 28th to November 2nd, 2018, the 2018 International Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC 2018) was held in Seattle, USA. ASC is held in the United States every two years, which is one of the largest international conferences in the field of superconducting technology applications. The conference’s content covers superconducting electron detectors, a variety of superconducting devices and superconducting magnets, superconducting force applications, and research progress in superconducting materials. This year's conference venue is set at the Washington State Convention Center. Zhou You and Cheng Yi, Ph.D. students of CAEMD, went to the United States to participate in the conference.

In this conference on applied superconductivity, our center published a total of 4 papers participating in the conference, all of which were poster displays, and the topics were: A Novel HTS Modulated Coaxial Magnetic Gear with Eccentric Structure and Halbach Arrays, A Novel Dual-Stator HTS Linear Vernier Generator for Direct Drive Marine Wave Energy Conversion, A Novel HTS Wind Generator Having Permanent Magnets between the Rotor Pole and Design and Analysis of a Novel Dual-Stator Cylinder Linear Vernier Machine with LTS Field Windings. This international conference provided a platform for demonstrating the research results of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of our university and promoted the scientific research exchange between our university and its counterparts at home and abroad. At the same time, it will also help the graduate students of our center to learn the new research ideas and methods in the field of superconducting technology, and open up international horizons.
