The teachers and students from Center for Advanced Electrical Machines&Drives of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering attend ICEMS 2019 conference in Harbin

Date:2020-01-09

The 22nd International Conference on Electrical Machines and systems (ICEMS 2019) was held in Harbin, August 11-14, 2019. Teachers of Center for Advanced Electrical Machines & Drivers(CAEMD) of our college, Qu Ronghai, Jiang Dong, Gan Dong, Sun Wei; Post-doctor of CAEMD, Fang Haiyang, Gao Yuting, Vincent Fedida and some graduate students (18 people in total) attended this conference.

The ICEMS (International Conference on Electrical Machinery and Systems) was founded in 1987 and is held in China, Japan and South Korea in turn and was held in Harbin, China this year. ICEMS 2019 was chaired by Professor Xu Dianguo of the Harbin Institute of Technology, and Professor Yang Qingxin of the Chinese Institute of Electrotechnical Technology, Professor Hyun-Kyo Jung of the Seoul University of Korea, Professor Noruko Kawakami of the Japan IEEJ Industrial Applications Association, and Professor Georges Zissis of IEEE Industrial Applications Association served as honorary chairman. The conference received nearly 1,200 submissions, attracting scholars and experts from all over the world. The conference agenda includes lectures, guest reports, oral presentations and poster presentations.

The conference is aimed at providing a platform to present the latest research progress and results and to exchange research and application experience for experts, scholars and engineers in the field of motors and systems all over the world. The main research direction covers various types of motors and structures, materials and analysis methods, power electronics converters, motion control, electric drives and applications, and other related areas.

In this conference, the CAEMD published a total of 20 papers, 3 of which won the Best Paper Award. The winning papers are: “A Novel Dual-Stator Permanent Magnet Vernier Machine with Enhanced Torque Density and Power Factor”, the authors of which are Wu Leilei and Qu Ronghai; “Accurate Modeling Method for DC Biased Vernier Reluctance Motor System Based on Finite Element Parameter Scanning”, and its authors are Gao Ruiqing, Yu Zhiyue, Chen Yu, Gan Yu, Qu Ronghai; “Design of a Contactless Power Transfer Device with Signal Transmission”, and the paper authors are Zhang Yuanzhi, Yang Yichang, Jiang Dong, Li Dawei, and Qu Ronghai.

This tour to Harbin has increased the international popularity of our university and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, broadened the academic horizons of teachers and students of the CAEMD, deepened the connection between our university and world-class universities and research institutes, and laid the foundation for future research and talent cooperation.
