Chun Gan, Professor, Ph.D. supervisor. In June 2016, he obtained the Ph.D. degree in the College of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University. Then, he joined in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Tennessee as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. In late September 2018, he returned back to China and joined in Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research interests are electric motor system design and control, high-performance motor converter, fault tolerance of motor system, and high-power electric drive, which are used for electric vehicles, rail transit, aerospace, etc. He has participated in projects including the US Department of Energy project, the US National Laboratory Project, the US Engineering Research Center project, the US Natural Science Foundation Project, the Chinese 863 Program, the Natural Science Foundation of China, the China-UK Cooperation Project, and several European, American, and Chinese Company cooperation projects, etc. He has published more than 50 SCI indexed journal papers including more than 30 IEEE Transactions papers, such as IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, etc. In the past three years, the cumulative impact factor of published SCI papers for the first author and corresponding author has exceeded 160. He has 8 authorized invention patents . He is the reviewer of more than 20 leading journals. Prof. Gan was the recipient of the 2018 IEEE Trans. Power Electronics Highlighted Paper Award (2.5% selected), 2018 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence from European Commission, and the 2015 Top Ten Excellent Scholar Award from Zhejiang University . |
