Yawei Wang, Ph.D., associate professor, IEEE Member, recipient of Canadian “TalentEdge Fellowship”. He received the M.S. degree in electric engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2015 and the Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering from the University of Padua in Italy (under the supervision of Prof. Nicola Bianchi) in 2019. From Oct. 2018 to Apr. 2019, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Electric Drive Laboratory (EDLab) of the University of Padua. From May 2019 to Nov. 2020, he joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC) of McMaster University as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate, supervised by IEEE Fellow Prof. Ali Emadi. Since Dec. 2020, he joined Center for Advanced Electrical Machines and Drives (CAEMD) in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). His research interests include theory and optimal design of synchronous reluctance motors, design and analysis of electric vehicle traction motors, modeling simulation and optimization of magnetic gears, etc., mainly for electric vehicles, small and medium wind power generation systems, aerospace and other important applications occasion. He has participated in several projects, such as the Canadian Natural Science Foundation project, US and Chinese Company cooperation projects, etc. He has published 17 SCI/EI papers, including 8 IEEE Transactions papers. He has 1 authorized patent. He was invited to report in Coiltech 2018 conference and served as the Session Chair of the ITEC 2020 conference. |
