On January 20, 2019, the 2018 Annual Academic Exchange Conference of CAEMD was successfully held in the lecture hall on the second floor of the New Electrical Building of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Director of the Center: Professor Qu Ronghai and Deputy Director: Jiang Dong, the teachers from the center, Sun Jianbo, Li Jian, Li Dawei, Liu Zicheng, Kong Wubin, Sun Wei, as well as all assistant teachers, postdoctoral students, master doctoral students, and undergraduates, all dressed up to attend the conference.

At 8:30 in the morning, everyone arrived at the south gate of the New Electric Building on time. Even the cold winter could not resist the enthusiasm and joy of the teachers and students. Everyone was dressed in suits and leather shoes, full of spirit, and finally settled into the beautiful look in the picture.

The meeting started on time at 9 am. Firstly, Professor Qu Ronghai summarized the achievements of the center in the past year, fully affirmed everyone's efforts, and gave everyone more expectations and encouragement. Immediately following, the center's teachers Jiang Dong, Gan Chun, Sun Jianbo, Li Jian, Li Dawei, Liu Zicheng, Kong Wubin and Sun Wei gave academic reports in turn, entitled "New Power Electronic Controllers for Magnetic Bearings", "Switched Reluctance Motor Drive System and Control Method", "High Power Density Switched Reluctance Motor Design", "Introduction of Special Vehicle Electric Drive System", "Multi-Harmonic Permanent Magnet Motor", " Research on Drive Control of Multi-Phase Induction Motor", "SiC Motor Controller" and "Introduction to Virtual Voltage Injection Theory". Teachers introduced academic progress and related academic achievements in their fields in the past year in academic reports. The reports were informative and the hard work of teachers and students of CAEMD embodied everyone's enthusiasm and heartfelt for scientific research.

At 1:30 pm, the meeting continued. Four postdoctoral fellows Gao Yuting, Fang Haiyang, Chen Junhua, and Vincent Fedida brought academic reports in their respective research fields, entitled "Design and Research of Permanent Magnet Linear Motors with High Thrust Density and Low Thrust Fluctuation Cursor", "Analysis, Evaluation and Suppression of New Energy Vehicle Electric Drive System NVH", "Linear asynchronous motor control --- measurement, observation and compensation of non-linear parameters" and "The Line-Start Motor Principle". After the academic report exchange, the center also praised the students who have outstanding performance in academic achievements, technical contributions, team contributions, hardworking and public services in 2018. The winners were Yu Zixiang and Ren Xiang, Zhou You, Yan Peng, Liang Ziyi, and Zhao Xuan, six students. After the academic exchange activities, the teachers and students of the center also carried out wonderful art show, which can be described as all kinds of talents. In the end, in the applause and laughter, the CAEMD's 2018 Academic Exchange Conference ended.

Looking back at 2018, the teachers and students of CAEMD focused on scientific research, pragmatism, and fruitful results; looking forward to 2019, hope everyone will persevere, move forward and create greater glories!
