In order to strengthen the connection between academia and industry, and promote the innovation and transformation of advanced technology of motor body, drive, control and power electronics related technology, "Center for Advanced Electrical Machines and Drives 2019 Annual Enterprise Conference and National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center Technology Forum of New Motor Technology" was held by CAEMD in the new Electrical Building, Wuhan Huazhong University of Science and Technology from June 16 to June 18, 2019.

The conference consisted of six parts, covering: IEEE IAS, IES, PES and PELS Wuhan Branch Joint Academic Annual Conference 2019, "Analysis and Design of Permanent Magnet Servo Motors" Training Course, Enterprise and Senior Graduate Recruitment Intent Exchange Conference, Motors and Their Drivers Special reports in the field of control technology, high-end forums for "electric vehicles" and visits to CAEMD laboratories / live demonstrations / poster presentations. The content was rich and the forms were diverse, and a feast of all participants.
On the morning of June 16, the 2019 IEEE IAS, IES, PES, and PELS Wuhan Branch Joint Academic Annual Meeting was held in Lecture Hall B205, The meeting was co-chaired by Academician Cheng Shijie and Professor Qu Ronghai, and Professor Mao Chengxiong and Professor Jiang Dong served as chairman of the technical committee. Firstly, the leaders of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Péter Magyar, Director of the Development Department of the IEEE IAS Professional and Technical Committee, Zheng Guilin, Chairman of the IEEE Wuhan Branch (speech by Professor Qu Ronghai), and Chairman of the IEEE IAS, IES, PES and PELS Wuhan Branch gave speeches. In the afternoon, two sub-forums of the IEEE Wuhan Joint Academic Annual Meeting were held in the lecture halls of B205 and B203 of the Electrical Building. Associate Professor Chen Xia and Professor Xu Wei served as the chairmen of the two sub-forums. Professor Jia Hongjie of Tianjin University, Professor Hua Wei of Southeast University, Professor Cha Xiaoming of Wuhan University, Professor Wang Gaolin of Harbin Institute of Technology, Associate Professor Guo Qinglai of Tsinghua University, Professor Li Yongdong of Tsinghua University, Professor Ma Jing of North China Electric Power University, Professor Jiang Kai of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Hu Jiabing of the University of Science and Technology made a wonderful report on the technological development trends and key academic issues that the electrical field is focusing on.
In the afternoon of June 16, Teacher Li Dawei and his doctoral student Cheng Yi launched a detailed and comprehensive training course on the topic of "Permanent Magnet Servo Motor Analysis and Design". The main contents include the background of servo motor application, basic requirements for servo control, and methods of selecting servo motors and the summary of common servo motor types and key technologies of servo motors. The training content takes into account both professionalism and practicability, and has been well received by the participating enterprise engineers.
On the evening of June 16, representatives from 9 well-known domestic companies participated in the recruitment intention exchange meeting with more than 80 graduate students of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Hall 1 of Building No.1. Participating companies made short presentations using video or PPT respectively, then had dinner with graduate students and had an in-depth exchange in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
In the morning of June 17, the 2019 Annual Conference of CAEMD and the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for New Motor Technology Technology Seminar were officially held in the Lecture Hall B205, The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Sun Wei from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Qu Ronghai, the director of CAEMD gave a welcome speech. Professor Qu briefly introduced the development of CAEMD, extended a warm welcome to colleagues from the business community and academia who came to the conference, and wished the conference a complete success. Next, Dr. Li Dawei made a detailed report on the annual work summary of CAEMD. Dr. Jiang Dong, Dr. Gan Chun and Dr. Sun Jianbo, Dr. Chen Junhua, and Dr. Vincent Fedida gave special reports respectively entitled "Research on New Type Motor Controllers with DC Excitation Capability", "Noise and Vibration of Switched Reluctance Motors and Torque Ripple Reduction Methods "," Research on Variable Flux Permanent Magnet Motor Design and Control Technology ", " Research on Starting Characteristics of Asynchronous Start Permanent Magnet Motors ".
In the afternoon of June 17, the annual meeting entered the invited report session. First, Cai Wei, founder and CTO of Jingjin Electric Technology Co., Ltd., Wen Xuhui, a researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhang Bo, director of the Industrial Development Environment Consulting Department of China Automotive Technology Research Center brought the "Electric Vehicle" high-end forum speeches. They introduced three aspects of the core technology and development direction of electric vehicles. "innovation of automotive electric drive assembly and opportunities and challenges of its industrial chain", "technology of silicon carbide motor drive controllers for automobiles", and "analysis of the development status and trend of China's new energy automobile industry". Then, Prof. Po-tai Cheng of Tsinghua University in Hsinchu and Prof. Yongdong Li of Tsinghua University brought the invited reports entitled "Power Critical Loads" and "Application of Large-capacity Power Electronics Technology in Electrified Transportation".
The morning of June 18 was the special report of the annual conference. Dr. Kong Wubin, Dr. Fang Haiyang, Dr. Liu Zicheng, Dr. Ren Xiang, Ph.D. student Li Qiao and Dr. Fan Xinggang respectively brought special reports entitled "High Power Density SiC Motor Controller", "Theory and New Technology of Vibration and Noise Reduction for Permanent Magnet Drive Motors", "Multi-DOF Drive Control Technology for Multi-Phase Motors", "Permanent Magnet Brushless Dual Electromechanical for Hybrid Vehicle Port Motor "," Circulation Control Method of Parallel Inverter Based on Variable Switching Frequency PWM", "Design and Analysis of Axial Segmented Water-Cooled Permanent Magnet Motor". In the end, Professor Qu Ronghai reported on "Design and Drive of High Performance Permanent Magnet Linear Motors" and had a friendly discussion with participants.
In the afternoon of June 18th, the participants visited the laboratory of CAEMD, and comprehensively understood the current status of the center's scientific research level in the frontier fields of multiple motors, new machine prototypes and tests, test platform construction and various project progress. The members of the center gave detailed presentations and lively demonstrations, which aroused great interest from the participants.
